Since the UN court in The Hague convicted former Bosnian Serb president Radovan Karadzic on March 20, 2019 of some of the gravest wartime crimes in recent European history, not a single new indictment has been filed charging anyone who helped him while he was in hiding for 12 years, BIRN has learned.
The support network that protected and sustained Karadzic during those years is still shrouded in mystery even though more than a decade has passed since his arrest in Serbia in 2008.
